This drawing is my look at the moment when something fades but still holds its own authority. These wilted lotus forms feel like two figures caught in a quiet exchange—beyond beauty, beyond performance. While drawing them, I felt a strange mix of calm and tension. The forms are collapsing, but they’re not defeated. They keep a kind of dignity that only comes with time and exposure.
What drew me in was the way decay reveals structure. Nothing hides anymore. Every fold, every fracture becomes honest. That honesty was my real motivation here. I wanted a piece that speaks to people who sense value in what’s usually overlooked—who understand that endings can carry weight, clarity, even a sharper sense of presence.
For collectors, this work can act as a reminder of resilience without noise. It’s minimal, concentrated, and direct: a quiet space to reflect on change, persistence, and the quiet authority of things that no longer try to impress.
