Persimmon Twins

I painted these persimmons as if they were two quiet siblings.

Not decorative objects. Not fruit.
Two presences, leaning toward each other without touching.

What drew me in was their tension.
They are ripe, full, almost fragile. The skin glows. The leaves already begin to curl. One faces forward, open. The other turns slightly away. Together, they hold a silent dialogue about closeness and distance.

While working on this piece, I focused on completion. I finish one form before moving to the next. Each element must stand on its own. Only then can it belong to something larger. That process mirrors relationships. Strength first. Then connection.

For me, this painting is about maturity. About the moment when something is at its peak and already carries the shadow of transience.
