The Weight of Unspoken Things
€1200.00
I painted this work while thinking about how much of our relationships exists beneath words.
The two blossoms seem close enough to touch, yet each follows its own direction. Their stems cross inside the vase, quietly connected below the surface while remaining separate above it. That contrast fascinated me. So much of human connection lives in that space: what we feel, what we understand, and what we never fully say.
The flowers are beautiful, but they are also fleeting. Their brief presence became a reminder that meaningful relationships are often shaped not only by what is expressed, but by what remains unspoken. Trust, affection, longing, gratitude, disappointment—these emotions can carry enormous weight without ever being named.
For me, the vase symbolizes the fragile structure that holds people together. The water sustains life for a while, but it cannot stop time. The fruit introduces another layer: maturity. Relationships evolve, ripen, and change. They are never static.
What draws me to this subject is its ambiguity. Every viewer brings different memories into the painting. Some may see intimacy. Others may see distance, reconciliation, or loss.
