What the Fruit Knows
€500.00
I painted this work because it reminded me of something we often forget: nature has no interest in perfection.
The apricots inspired me not because they fit an ideal shape, but because they didn't. Their individuality is visible, unapologetic, and completely natural. While painting them, I kept thinking about how much effort people spend trying to conform, while nature quietly celebrates difference.
For me, this work is about self-acceptance. These fruits do not hide their irregularities or try to become something else. They simply exist as they are. There is a quiet strength in that.
The painting invites reflection on how we measure value. We are often taught that worth comes from meeting expectations. Nature suggests the opposite: what makes something memorable is often what makes it unique.
For collectors, the work can serve as a reminder that authenticity is more enduring than perfection. Sometimes the qualities we are most tempted to hide are the very things that define us.
